Frequently asked questions
Everything about what Shirt Nerds is, what it costs, and what it deliberately does not do. Still stuck? Get in touch.
The Basics
- Is Shirt Nerds official? Is it affiliated with RSVLTS?
- No. Shirt Nerds is an independent, fan-made tool built by collectors, for collectors. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by RSVLTS or any other brand. Brand names and product designs belong to their respective owners and are used only to help you identify and organize your own collection.
- How much does it cost?
- Shirt Nerds is free to download and use at launch, and it's ad-free. If we ever add optional premium features down the road, the core experience will remain available — and we'll always be upfront about any changes.
- What devices can I use it on?
- Shirt Nerds is a mobile app. We're launching on iPhone first, with Android to follow. You'll always be able to find the current download options on our website.
- Can I buy, sell, or trade shirts inside the app?
- No — and this is by design. Shirt Nerds never handles payments, money, or transactions. We don't process payments, hold funds, provide escrow, or ship anything. The app is a place to catalog your collection and to discover who has what. Any actual buying, selling, or trading happens directly between collectors, off the app.
- So how do trades and sales actually happen?
- When you mark an item "for trade" or "for sale," other collectors can find it. To connect, they use the social media links you choose to add to your public profile (for example, Instagram). All arrangements — agreeing on terms, communicating, and any payment — happen between you and the other person, off-platform, using whatever tools you both prefer.
- Are the prices in the app real?
- Any prices, conditions, or "sold" details are self-reported by users and are not verified by us. They're for general information only — not appraisals or guarantees of value. Always do your own research before agreeing to anything.
- A word of caution before any deal
- Because deals happen off-platform between collectors, please use good judgment: vet the other person, confirm the item and its condition, and be careful before sending money or items to anyone. Shirt Nerds isn't a party to your transactions and can't recover losses from a bad deal.
Accounts And Getting Started
- Do I need an account?
- You can browse the catalog without an account. To track your own collection, build a wanted list, create a profile, or connect with other collectors, you'll create a free account with your email and a password.
- How old do I have to be?
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Shirt Nerds. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you should use the app with a parent or guardian's permission.
- How do I add shirts to my collection?
- Find a shirt in the catalog and mark it as Owned (with its size and condition) or Wanted. You can add your own photos, notes, and more. One shirt stays as a single record for its whole life — so when you later decide to trade or sell it, you just flip a switch on that same item rather than re-adding it.
- What if a shirt I own isn't in the catalog?
- You can submit it. Use "Submit a Shirt" to send it in, and you can track the status of your submissions. Our team reviews submissions and adds approved shirts to the shared catalog so everyone benefits.
- Can I keep a wanted list?
- Yes. Mark shirts as Wanted, and for wanted items you can specify one or more sizes (including "any"). When another collector has a shirt you want available, the app can let you know.
- What are Sets?
- Sets are a way to group your shirts — for example by fandom or drop. Some sets are created automatically, and you can also build your own custom sets, name them, and choose whether to keep them private or make them public on your profile.
Privacy And Safety
- Who can see my collection?
- You're in control. Your basic identity — your display name and profile photo — is public. Almost everything else is private by default and only becomes visible if you choose to share it. You can set your collection, individual sets, and optional profile details (like your bio, general location, and social links) to public or private. Items you mark for trade or sale are visible so other collectors can find them.
- Is my email address public?
- No. Your email is never shown to other users.
- How do I report or block someone?
- Shirt Nerds includes built-in tools to report content or accounts and to block other users. If you block someone, they won't be able to interact with you. Reports are reviewed, and accounts that break the rules can be suspended or banned.
- How is my personal data handled?
- We keep things lean: no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking, and never any payment data. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy on this site.
- Is there in-app messaging or chat?
- Not at this time. For now, collectors connect through the social links on public profiles. If we add messaging in the future, it'll come with safety tools and clear guidance.
- What are points, levels, badges, and the leaderboard?
- Shirt Nerds includes a light, fun layer of collector achievements — you can earn points and badges and see how you stack up on leaderboards as you build and engage with your collection. It's meant to be a friendly bit of extra motivation, not a competition you have to join.
- Can I opt out of the leaderboard?
- Yes. If you'd rather not appear on leaderboards, you can opt out, and your badges will follow the same choice.
- What notifications will I get?
- Shirt Nerds has an in-app notification center. You'll see things like a heads-up when another collector wants a shirt you have available, and updates on your shirt submissions. You control your notification preferences in the app
- How do I delete my account?
- You can delete your account any time in the app under Profile → App → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your personal information, subject to the limited exceptions described in our Privacy Policy.
- I represent a brand and want content removed. Who do I contact?
- Please reach out to us at [email protected] with the details, and we'll address it, including any applicable takedown process.
- How do I get help or report a problem?
- Email us at [email protected]. We read everything and do our best to help. Last Updated: July 1, 2026
