RSVLTS breaks down UK VAT and the £135 duty line
Stephen Gebhardt put numbers to something UK collectors have been complaining about at checkout. Every order into the UK gets a 20% VAT added by HMRC, no matter how small. Cross £135 GBP in the cart and a duty fee lands on top of that VAT. One pound over the line and you pay it.
RSVLTS says this is HMRC's structure, not theirs, and suggests splitting orders to stay under the threshold — two shipping charges usually costing less than the duty. For collectors chasing a full print run, that means planning by cart size rather than by wishlist. Also announced: a UK Buy, Sell, Trade group, with details still to come. Third-party forwarders get a mention but no endorsement, which is the honest answer.
