SHIRT NERDS

A fan built RSVLTS a back-catalog database

RSVLTS Insider Ken Pringle spent his own money on a programmer and a lot of hours on research, and the result is the Rough Riders Registry — a database of the RSVLTS back catalog where Insiders log what they own and what they still want. Almost 200 people are already tracking collections on it.

The interesting part for anyone cataloguing is the archive itself. Stephen Gebhardt says designs he assumed were gone are in there, including what is probably the very first shirt the company made. That is the hard part of collecting an eight-year-old label: knowing the list exists at all. Gaps remain, and Ken is taking submissions on lost pieces, so the record gets better as collectors add to it.
